Salkantay is a stunning snow-capped peak held sacred by the Incas. The name is a Quechua word meaning Savage Mountain. It is the highest of the Vilcabamba range at 6271 metres (20574 feet). This picture was taken on the way to Cachora. Click image for larger photograph
