Esk Pike - Complete Panorama

Notable points on the panorama, from the left: The River Esk in upper Eskdale, Horn Crag and Slightside, Long Green, Scafell, south peak and summit of Scafell Pike, Ill Crag just in front of it, the tip of Broad Crag further to the right; and through the gap Haycock, Red Pike, Scoat Fell and Steeple; Great End, Great Gable, Green Gable; Grasmoor, with Whiteless Pike just in front and Brandreth in the middle distance; the tip of the summit of Wandope and Eel Crag with Robinson in front fading into their background, and Grey Knotts closer still; in the valley is Seathwaite Fell and just beyong it to the right Base Brown beyond which are Sail and Grisedale Pike on the horizon. Hindscarth is just visible then Dale Head and the knot of Causey Pike's summit. Barrow and High Spy are clearly visible with Binsey in the background. Allen Crags looks diminutive in the foreground despite its 2572 feet. Ullock Pike leads to Long Side, Carl Side, Skiddaw and Skiddaw Little Man, Knott, Lonscale Fell, High Pike (with Glaramara in the foreground) and Blencathra (with Bleaberry Fell, High Seat and High Tove to the right in the middle distance). Clough Head is beyond the man having lunch (only a temporary feature), the pinnacle of Calfhow Pike can be seen in the dip before Great Dodd, Stybarrow Dodd, Raise and White Side beyond Ullscarf. The sharp summit of Helvellyn Lower Man leads to Helvellyn itself, Nethermost Pike and Dollywagon Pike. St. Sunday Crag is beyond leading to Fairfield with the tiny Cofa Pike on its left flank and Seat Sandal in front. These lie beyond the great hummock of High Raise (a.k.a. High White Stones). Further right on the horizon are Hart Crag and Dove Crag with Kidsty Pike visible between and Greatrigg Man closer to. High Street is beyond High Pike, Caudale Moor then Red Screes leads to the peak of Ill Bell and Yoke. In the foreground across the valley are the Langdale Pikes - Harrison Stickle, Pike o'Stickle and Loft Crag. The northern summit of Bowfell blocks any further view of Windermere then to the right is its main summit. There's a glimpse of Swirl How then Crinkle Crags in the middle distance and far away is Brim Fell and Coniston Old Man, Grey Friar slightly closer and the shapely summit of Dow Crag. Walna Scar and Caw lead to the Duddon Estuary. Separating the Duddon and Esk valleys are Hard Knott in the middle distance and Harter Fell with a shapely cloud (apparently) above it. In the far distance is Black Combe then the Ulpha Fells complete the circuit. This picture is also available as a larger, 5504 x 376 pixel, 370 kbyte jpeg.
