Blencathra - The Southern Elevation
Samsung Zoom Automatic - 35-70mm lens

This picture is taken from the coach road below Clough Head and looks towards the southern face of Blencathra. There are five ridges running south from the fell, named from the left: Blease Fell, Gategill Fell, Hall's Fell, Doddick Fell and Scales Fell. Hall's Fell Top is the summit of Blencathra. There are well-used routes to the top between each of the ridges as well as on them. Lonscale Fell is on the left of the picture with Skiddaw behind it: Bannerdale Crags and Bowscale Fell appear on the right. Whitewashed buildings can be seen below Doddick Fell (Doddick Farm) and Scales Fell (various at Scales). Transfer to smaller picture.
